A journey across the senses
In the middle of the torrid Indian climate, a tall and thin man with western features, walks thoughtful under an immense black umbrella.
The man of the umbrella -this is how the people of Anantapur called
Vicente Ferrer- is an Opera Collage in which Joan Martínez Colás proposes a journey of the senses across the life and the work of the creator of the private foundation of more social impact that exists in the world, the Fundación Vicente Ferrer.
The opera consists of three acts divided into seven parts each. The action starts in the Barcelona of 1920 -year of his birth- and is developed in the stages of the Spanish Civil War and Postwar period and India until 2009, year of his death.
The man of the umbrella is a story of selfimprovement, generosity and altruism. A story of how the fight of a human being can serve of guide and inspiration for the following generations.
