Born in Terrassa, Spain, he has obtained the degree in Orchestra and Choir Condutcing, Composition and Instrumentation and Musical Pedagogy, as well as teacher of Singing, Oboe and Musical Language.
He has also studied a postgreaduate in Logopedy and Voice problems in University Blanquerna (Ramon Llull University).
In his broad career in Conducting, Joan has been the official conductor of Matadepera Band, Ciutadella de Menorca Band, the Orquestra Filharmònica Metropolitana (Barcelona), the Orfeó de Sabadell, choir, the Reixanença choir of Santa Perpètua de la Mogoda and the Chapel of Music of Santa Maria del Pi of Barcelona, among other.
Joan has been the founding conductor of Coral Nova Ègara choir, created in year 1998, of the MC Cor Barcelona Chamber Choir in 2006 . In 2009, he has set up the Sacral Chapel of Catalonia.
He has carried out concerts as a guest director in Manizales, Colombia, with Orquesta de la Universidad de Caldas and Coro Santa Cecilia. Joan has also performed, as a director and as a singer, in Germany and France.
Founder of Barcelona Classic Concert, cultural initiative which aims to bring classical music to the whole society. Barcelona Classic Concert organizes and produces musical shows, from chamber choir to the greatest works of the symphonic-choral repertoire. Barcelona Classic Academy is its musical training branch, with two music schools: Berna School in Barcelona and Alícia School in Terrassa.
